About the role

  • We are looking for a motivated and eager Junior IT Technician to join our IT department.
  • This role is ideal for someone who is early in their IT career and passionate about learning and growing in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the helpdesk system by triaging and responding to service tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Take the lead on Tier 1 triage of cybersecurity alerts, performing initial analysis and escalation of potential threats in accordance with established procedures.

Requirements

  • Occasionally assist with after-hours support as required.
  • Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written) is required to support our bilingual Eastern Canada offices.
  • As this role supports both English and French speaking employees, bilingualism (English and French) is required.

Compensation

  • The estimated base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • BGC's compensation package also includes a discretionary bonus plan, training allowance, and comprehensive medical and dental plan.

  • The Role
  • The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day IT support tasks, maintain systems and hardware, help ensure network security, and contribute to ongoing improvement projects.
  • Based in Ottawa, this position will provide onsite and remote IT support to our growing Eastern Canada offices.
