About the role
- At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we're not just changing how people access financial products — we're creating a new
- credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward.
Responsibilities
- Drive the growth for these line of credit products: Own the iOS experience across our credit products - optimizing onboarding, application conversion rates, improving repeat usage, and continuously raising the bar on how users move from application to active product use.
- Operate at the outcome level: You'll be trusted to an outcome - say, 40% conversion - and expected to improve it through your own problem-solving.
- That means working with design and product to identify the right levers, not waiting for a spec that tells you exactly what to build.
- Hold the line on precision in a regulated product: Errors in credit products don't just create bugs - they trigger compliance requirements: corrective notices, potential fee refunds, regulatory exposure.
- Collaborate across the full stack: Partner with PMs, designers, data science, and backend engineers to build credit experiences that hold up at every layer - technically, experientially, and regulatory.
- Candidates who are primarily interested on iOS infrastructure (e.g., app load time, build systems) or internal tooling might not be the right fit for this role.
- Attention to detail that extends beyond code quality. You understand that in a regulated product, the gap between what you meant to ship and what you actually shipped has real downstream consequences. You build accordingly.
- Join us in building the credit system that people deserve.
Requirements
- The specific tools matter less than your ability to instrument experiments, analyze user behavior, and turn signal into product decisions.
Nice to have
- These aren't experimental bets - they're live products with real users, real compliance obligations, and real room to grow.
- Getting there requires validating the right product constructs through focused experimentation before committing to full implementation.
- The team is lean and high-ownership - a staff iOS engineer, an Android engineer, and you.
- This is a net-new role created by expanded investment in both products simultaneously, not a backfill.
- Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum 2 times a year.
- 5+ years of experience as an iOS engineer building consumer-facing mobile products.
- Consumer product background is non-negotiable.
- You've built products that real users interact with daily.
Skills
- Your attention to detail is as much a product requirement as your engineering skill.
Compensation
- we gather twice yearly to reconnect over shared meals or kayaking adventures. (We've visited Vail, San Diego, and Mexico City, to name a few.)
Benefits
- You'll get started with a WFH office reimbursement.
- Competitive pay: We're big on potential, and it's reflected in our competitive compensation packages and generous equity.
- Complete support: Find flexible health plans at every premium level, and substantial subsidies that stand up to global standards.
- Those who stand behind their work, celebrating the wins and learning from the missteps equally.
- Run experiments that advance the unified product vision: Test different product constructs and UX approaches that move us toward a single, seamless lending experience.
Company info
- We're looking for people who chase excellence and impact.
