About the role

Responsibilities
- Own preparation of journal entries for accruals, prepaids, payroll, revenue, and intercompany activity.
- Lead month-end close tasks for assigned areas, meeting close calendar deadlines and documentation standards.
- Support inventory and COGS accounting, including variance analysis between theoretical and actual usage.
- Partner with FP&A to explain account-level variances versus budget/prior period.
- Support external audit and internal SOX control testing by preparing workpapers and responding to requests.
- Identify and help implement process improvements to strengthen controls and close efficiency.
- Team Support & Development
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing close deadlines independently.
- Effective communicator, able to explain accounting results to non-accounting business partners.
Requirements
- those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to others
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control concepts.
- hands-on experience with an ERP system (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar) and POS/reporting tools.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience
- multi-unit retail, restaurant, or franchise experience strongly preferred.
