About the role
- Job Profile: Skilled Crafts and Trade Assistant 2 Non-Exempt Job Family: Skilled Crafts and Trade Time Type: Full time Max Pay - Depends on experience: $34.00 USD Hourly Apply before 11:59 PM Arizona time the day before the posted End Date.
- Job profile Summary: Serves as a certified trades worker in an area of specialty to ensure proper installation, modification, and repair of related systems.
- This position is based on the Tempe campus but will require working at other ASU campus locations based on program need.
Responsibilities
- Facilities Management, Tempe campus, seeks HVAC Technicians to perform preventive maintenance, repair, overhaul and maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks (e.g., filter and belt replacement)
- Perform equipment diagnostics and repairs
- Document work performed and ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Support on-call duties and emergency response
- Perform repairs on chillers, boilers, air handlers, compressors, and controls
- Maintain accurate service logs and reports
- Free and confidential Employee Assistance services, helping to manage personal difficulties or life challenges
Requirements
- Ability to work safely with refrigerants and tools
Skills
- Utilize power tools (e.g. drills, generators, saws, lifts, vacuum equipment).
- Climb ladders, ladder wells, and stairs.
- Work off ladders using hand tools and power tools to include working off lift platforms and boom trucks at heights above six feet.
- Use lifting, moving, and rigging equipment to safely move, transfer, or relocate heavy equipment.
- Operate refrigeration recovery equipment in compliance with EPA guidelines.
- Handle CFC refrigerant.
- Stoop, bend, and reach.
- Walk throughout campus.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Drive University vehicles.
Compensation
- $34.00 USD Hourly
