Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of light and medium duty vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and AC
- Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs (PMs) to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of fleet mechanics/technicians, assigning daily tasks and reviewing work quality
- Maintain accurate service records, repair histories, and maintenance logs using fleet management software (e.g., Fleetio, RTA, Samsara)
- Ground Logistics is seeking an experienced Lead Fleet Mechanic to maintain the safety, reliability, and performance of our light and medium-duty fleet in Maryland and surrounding states.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as fleet mechanic with 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong working knowledge of automotive tools and repair techniques
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and vehicle safety standards
- Weld, fabricate, and repair vehicle bodies, frames, and components as required
