About the role
- Prepare financial and business analyses related to material usage performance, inventory balances, safety stock levels, and strategic raw material decisions.
- Prepare, analyze, and report monthly raw material purchase forecasts and variance analyses, including explanations for discrepancies.
- Assist in establishing accounting and forecasting processes for the new brownfield melting facility in Athens, Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Identify and drive continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
- Support SOX compliance and US GAAP reporting, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Perform SAP/MES raw materials accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, subledger maintenance, account analysis, and related monthly reporting.
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage digital tools and AI to improve analytical capabilities and reporting insights.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, and Operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical partners.
Requirements
- The position also supports forecasting, process improvements, and setup of accounting processes for a new brownfield melting facility in Athens, Alabama, with occasional travel required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles and US GAAP.
- Experience or ability to learn SAP and manufacturing-related accounting systems.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and translate results into actionable insights.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in accounting, finance, or analytical roles preferred.
- Exposure to forecasting, variance analysis, and inventory accounting preferred.
