About the role
- You'll be the primary owner of https://cape.cocape.co http://cape.co and associated sites, working closely with our engineering, marketing, and product teams.
- Our site gets tens of thousands of visits per day, and we're frequently updating and standing up new campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage production releases (monitoring builds, diagnosing failures, optimizing build pipelines)
- Update and manage content through our CMS, with a solid understanding of publish/draft states and preview link behavior
- Implement copy and design updates
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate, production-ready pages and components
- Maintain and update the web checkout flow
- Proactively address performance issues - image optimization, build efficiency, and page load improvements
- Implement and maintain SEO best practices (meta tags, robots directives, etc.)
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Next.js (or similar React frameworks)
- Experience with Vercel deployments and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms like Sanity
- Familiarity with web security fundamentals - query injection, API key hygiene, env var security
- Proficiency working from Figma - able to extract specs, assets, and layout details and implement them faithfully in code.
- Ability to independently review, test, and merge PRs with minimal hand-holding
- Experience with image optimization workflows (WebP conversion, responsive images)
- Familiarity with Node.js version management and dependency tooling

Compensation
- We offer competitive compensation that is geo-adjusted based on your location.
- Hourly salary range for this role in New York, NY is $100 - $200 depending on experience and interview performance.
