About the role
- This position will report directly to the project Site Manager in Rosamond, CA.
- The Field Technician will be responsible for assigned aspects of the maintenance and operation of utility scale PV power plant.
- Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of contractors to ensure safe, high quality and timely performance of maintenance activities in the field.
Responsibilities
- Always maintain integrity and follow Arevon safety policies and procedures.
- Perform varying corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for solar PV systems.
- Collaborate with internal Arevon teams to collect and produce data for various agencies that require reporting documents (NERC, EPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Ability to create and follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Ability to perform testing, switching and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, trackers, DC array and inverters to name a few.
- Ensure CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.
- Perform testing using IV Curve Tracers, Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other equipment, as needed.
- Maintain work area and site housecleaning to company standards.
Requirements
- 3 years of direct experience as a PV solar technician or 6 years' experience in a non-solar electrical maintenance role.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers and vendors.

- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
Nice to have
- CEC license or technical degree preferred.
- Electrical certifications, state, journeyman, etc. a plus.
- Familiar with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.
- Strong Understanding of renewable energy technology.
