About the role
- Do you love data and have a passion for supporting farmers?
- We're seeking a full-time Farm Research Analyst to dig into data from our farm-based research projects, including our Financial Benchmark Study, Soil Health Benchmark Study and Nutrient Density Study.
- The ideal candidate should be eager to work in a collaborative community science research setting with a diverse group of farmers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the development of papers, reports, and presentations that are shared with research collaborators and the broader agricultural community
- Forward Pasa's research projects by using data to develop/uncover new research initiatives and questions to refine projects and support the needs of research collaborators
- Communicate results, lead engaging presentations, and facilitate discussions with research collaborators and the broader agricultural community about our research and related topics
- Support other data collection, organization, and analysis as needed for our research needs, including fieldwork
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-organizational team and develop effective working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a field related to one of our research studies (soil science, crop science, agribusiness/agricultural economics, or a related field)
- or at least 4 years of experience in one of these areas
- Excellent communication skills including ability to convey technical information to different audiences
- must be capable of ensuring that various streams of data are kept organized, secure, and interpretable
- At least 2 years of practical experience in production agriculture or farmer technical assistance
- They should have the desire and ability to gather appropriate data, analyze that data, and convey the results in meaningful ways to various stakeholders and audiences.
- All employees are required to attend our Sustainable Agriculture Conference held each February in Lancaster, PA.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Salesforce, Tableau, or other similar technology software
- Experience with Quickbooks Online
- Experience with farm business financial accounting
- Experience with data visualization and PostgreSQL database management
- Experience with grant writing and reporting
- Bilingual Spanish
- Compensation: This is a full-time position, funded through April 2028.
- fifteen paid holidays
Compensation
- Annual salary for this position is $68,250.
Benefits
- After one year of employment, employees bilingual in English and Spanish are eligible for a $1,000 bonus.
