About the role

  • This is a great opportunity for a student or volunteer pursuing a career in Health and Safety.
  • In this role, you will report directly to our Compliance Officer.
  • You will work in a professional office setting and occasionally travel to our local program sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support workplace inspections by preparing checklists, recording findings, and tracking corrective actions.
  • Maintain OHS records, databases, and electronic filing systems.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including updating emergency plans and evacuation information.
  • Support orientation and training initiatives by preparing materials and tracking completion records.
  • Collaborate with managers and program staff to promote a positive safety culture.

Requirements

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to keep private information confidential.
  • A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and an Intervention Record Check must be completed prior to commencement (any records must be disclosed before hire).
  • Required Competencies: All positions at Closer to Home Community Services require (5) competencies: I nstills Trust, Consumer Focus, Communicates Effectively, Situational Adaptability and Ensures Accountability.
  • Assist with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory documentation as required.
