About the role
- Reimagine What's Possible Air Products is seeking an experienced Operations Technician to join its team at the Odessa, TX facility.
- The Odessa site operates an Air Separation Unit (ASU) that produces medical-, food-, and industrial-grade nitrogen.
- In this role, you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring nitrogen production processes, including utility systems, compressors, rotating equipment, and Distributed Control System (DCS) operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks, safety inspections, and plant log readings.
- Maintain water chemistry.
- Perform troubleshooting on equipment.
- Issue safety work permits and performs lock out / tag out of various process equipment.
- Maintain online training program requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in operations, maintenance, or monitoring of industrial process plants.
- Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings.
- Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment.
- Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- A teammate that is flexible and has a positive demeanor.
- Dedication to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
