About the role
- Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities.
- Under general direction of the Director of Academic Advising, advise students regarding academic and career concerns, articulation and other related services, as well as provide mental health counseling services as needed.
- Provide initial advisement to students and/or potential students on college programs and services including course selection and class scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate and assist in the development and implementation of a variety of student development programs and college recruiting activities to attract and maintain students/potential students including special populations.
- Assist students in assessing academic skills and interpret placement testing. Contact students who have been determined to be academically at risk and design a program to improve academic success.

Requirements
- A Master's degree in counseling, social work or a related field is required.
- Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Provide academic advising for degree-seeking students ensuring that students are fully enrolled and meet class and graduation requirements.

Skills
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals from varying backgrounds.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.
