About the role
- You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to bring reliable, scalable automation systems to life.
- Select and specify control system components including breakers, contactors, PLCs, safety relays, and power supplies
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues during system bring-up, commissioning, and deployment
Responsibilities
- Design industrial control panels in compliance with UL 508A, NFPA 79, and NEC (NFPA 70)
- Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials
- Perform short-circuit current rating (SCCR) calculations
- Design motor control systems, emergency stop circuits, safety circuits, and power distribution architectures
- Collaborate with PLC software engineers to integrate controls functionality
- Support panel builds and work closely with contract panel shops
- Support panel certification and labeling processes
- Support installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed

Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional work experience
- Strong working knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 79, and NEC (NFPA 70)
- Experience performing SCCR calculations and protection coordination
- Hands-on experience designing and documenting control panels and industrial machine wiring systems
- Experience with motor control systems
- Familiarity with PLC hardware platforms (SICK, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, CAN, etc.)
- Experience with functional safety in accordance with ISO 13849 or IEC 62061
- Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical or similar)

Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $127,000 - $165,000 plus stock and benefits.
