About the role

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in molecular biology techniques, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reviewing and reporting test results, if applicable.
Adhere to laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reviewing and maintaining records of patient test results.

Performs high complexity tests that are authorized by the General Supervisor or Laboratory Director.
Document all non-conformities and corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure workflow efficiency and continuity.
Maintain a high level of organization and accountability to support safe, accurate, and timely laboratory testing.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of laboratory operations.

OR a bachelor's, or higher, degree in one of the chemical, or biological sciences from an accredited institution, and, in addition, at least 6 months of acceptable supervised experience and/or relevant training.
Demonstrate clear ability to explain experience with specific instrument platforms, including test principle(s), what controls were in place, and how results are interpreted and reported out.
Communication - Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write clear reports and detailed laboratory procedures with correct grammar and spelling.
Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Relevant molecular skill set consisting of the molecular fundamentals, RNA and DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis will be plus.
Experience with real time PCR, microarray or sequencing preferred.

Highly organized and strong work ethic.
Understanding of the equipment used daily, including, but not limited to centrifuges, thermal cyclers, and real-time PCR analyzers.
Understanding of CLIA requirements and experience with CAP inspections for compliance with Checklist requirements.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-past, deadline-driven environment.
Willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve the desired results.
Visual acuity and analytical skills to distinguish fine detail.
Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
