About the role
- We are looking to fill in a part-time software engineer position in the Specialty Property department.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance software tools that support insurance product development, underwriting workflows, and risk management.
- Deliver reliable, efficient solutions quickly that improve business operations and decision-making.
- Develop and integrate solutions using RESTful APIs and internal or third-party services.
- Support maintaining in-house desktop applications, including WinForms or WPF applications, implement enhancements as needed.
- Drive issue resolution and continuous improvement with a focus on supporting immediate business needs.
- Knowledge of MVVM design patterns.
Requirements
- & Experience Required 7 to 10 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with ASP.NET, C#,.NET, and front-end technologies such as jQuery and/or React.
- Strong experience with relational databases ( SQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with process automation, service setup, job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro, spatial data management, and Python.
- Prior experience in working R&D environments or as a software engineer supporting a business unit comfortable with iterative approaches.
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
