About the role
- Position Purpose: Must reside within 20 miles of Norfolk, VA Area covered is from Hampton, VA to Kitty Hawk, NC.
- This position reports directly to the next-level manager for their region.
- Working Conditions: - Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Responsibilities
- Supports rental centers by explaining the large equipment program and addressing any store-specific issues
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair all components of the machine, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and brake systems
- Utilizes company technology platform to document all work performed on equipment, including labor and parts
- Performs other tasks assigned by the leader
Requirements
- Must be twenty-one years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Ability to diagnose and complete advanced mechanical repairs, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical repair and parts manuals for equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other components.
- Assists with equipment deliveries and pick-ups as required
- Ability to lay out key action items in a logical sequence and recognize issues that may delay progress to reduce bottlenecks
Nice to have
- Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
- Experience in repair and maintenance of gas/diesel engines, automotive or industrial equipment.
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
