About the role
- Reporting to the Division's Director of Development, the candidate will apply knowledge and understanding of the University of Maryland and DSA, its programs, needs and priorities to the development process.
- The Associate Director will also liaise with the Assistant Vice President for Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
- The Associate Director of Development will manage a portfolio of approximately 80 major gift prospects with the objective of discovering, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding major gifts from $50,000 - $1M+.
- The Associate Director will develop and implement major gift strategies in consultation with the Director of Development for Student Affairs, as well as other Division of Student Affairs and University Relations colleagues.
Requirements
- Must be able to walk to departments on campus.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- This development professional is expected to quickly gain and present an expansive knowledge of the Division of Student Affairs and the University of Maryland.
- Required Application Materials: Cover Letter, Resume and three list of references.
- Must be able to travel up to 50%.
- Occasional work on evenings and weekends is required.
Nice to have
- Development experience within a university setting is preferred.
- Experience in volunteer management and proposal writing is desired.
