About the role
- Mujin is the future of industrial robotic systems in production and distribution environments.
- Our technology gives robots perception and awareness, enabling them to take on more advanced tasks.
- This is a hands-on project buying role for someone with direct experience in automation, material handling, system integration, robotics, industrial equipment, or a similar technical project environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the supply-side review of project BOMs, project scope, technical purchasing requirements, and project timing in coordination with Project Execution and Engineering.
- Proactively obtain the most complete available project BOM, confirm BOM completeness with Project Execution, Engineering, Solution Engineering, and other relevant stakeholders, and drive follow-up on missing, incomplete, unclear, or evolving BOM items.
- Identify long-lead, high-risk, custom, or supplier-sensitive items early in the project lifecycle and understand how each item or service supports the overall automation solution.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers and service providers used in warehouse automation, material handling, robotics, industrial automation, and related project-based technical scope.
- Lead supplier evaluation, quote comparison, delivery feasibility validation, and supplier readiness review, and provide supplier recommendations based on technical fit, responsiveness, quality, cost, timing, execution risk, and project requirements.
- Build practical relationships with domestic and international suppliers, negotiate project-specific pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, commercial terms, and recovery options, and support review of supplier documents such as quotes, statements of work, NDAs, purchase terms, and subcontractor documentation with relevant internal stakeholders as needed.
- Drive resolution of missing technical, commercial, supplier, or timing information before handoff to the internal procurement execution owner for controlled PO processing.
- Manage supplier-side execution risks after project supply needs are defined, including supplier commitments, milestone risks, open supplier actions, and recovery options.
- Follow up directly with suppliers on availability, lead times, delivery timing, technical scope, open issues, missing documentation, and project-critical readiness.
- Follow through on project-critical materials, equipment, or services after delivery to confirm they do not create unresolved project execution risk.
Requirements
- Ability to translate project BOMs, supplier quotes, delivery requirements, and project milestone needs into purchase request packages.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work closely with relevant internal stakeholders and suppliers in a fast-changing project environment.
- Establish a BOM-based project supply baseline, including ordered items, unordered items, items requiring clarification, supplier options, required delivery timing, and known project supply risks.
