About the role
- The Chair of the Removal-Defense Department will provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the removal defense immigration department within W&O'.
- This role involves working with a team of attorneys, case managers, and legal assistants while ensuring that personal caseload is handled in compliance with established standards.
- The Chair will be responsible for strategic planning, learning development, and continuous improvement within the department.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for the Removal-Defense Services Department to enhance and expand its practice.
- Establish and maintain the department's professional reputation through strong client advocacy and legal representation.
- In collaboration with the Operations team, Managing Attorneys, and firm Partners, regularly review and revise SOPs to ensure that they reflect the best practices and regulatory changes within family immigration law.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring client needs are addressed and concerns are resolved promptly.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in removal-defense immigration law
- Education:
- Licensing:
- Admission to the Bar in the United States.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to grow and enhance the family-based department.

- Mitigate risks associated with removal defense immigration law matters by maintaining a strong compliance framework.
- Conduct regular audits of department practices to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Compensation
- Salary: 8% increase
