About the role
- Purpose The plant superintendent is responsible for activities of workers in all phases of a plant operation.
- Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities

- Manage the paintline
- Work with human resources to maintain corporate policies and manage overall headcount according to the budget and sales.
- Consult with engineering relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products, or when developing new lines for a new product.
- Provide support to all operations through the application of lean manufacturing / Kaizen principles.
- Manages special projects as requested by the General Manager.
Requirements
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.

- Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing management, a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience. 6 plus years of experience, or equivalent. Experience in automotive manufacturing.

- This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
