About the role
- Assess and select manufacturing process to stay within or under target manufacturing costs.
Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed mechanical designs (3D) using SolidWorks including fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Analyzing mechanical designs for thermal and structural performance using SolidWorks.
- Coordinate and manage selected vendors and ensure quality per specifications for mechanical components by performing or overseeing quality inspections and verifications.
- Developing efficient and cost-effective, best-value type product designs.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- At least 1+ years of experience as an engineer in a highly technical, R&D, and/or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Systems integration experience.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks for 2D and 3D mechanical drawings preferred.
- Experience designing flight and military-grade hardware is a plus
- Thermal and structural analysis experience is a plus
