Sponsors, but it's cap-subject — you still face the weighted lottery (~61% per draw at Level IV). Good if you win; have a cap-exempt backup on your list.

H-1B wage level

the lottery is wage-weighted — each level is one more entry

Level I · 1×
Level I$94,3701 entry
Level II$123,8432 entries
Level III$153,3173 entries
Level IV$182,7904 entries

The bottom of this range ($63,000) is below the Level I prevailing wage of $94,370. An H-1B cannot be filed below the prevailing wage, so an offer at the floor of this band could not be sponsored as posted.

Based on the DOL prevailing wage for this occupation and worksite, a base salary of $123,843 would place this position at wage Level II. That figure is within the posted range, and I'd like to target it. This role classifies under "Software Developers" for prevailing-wage purposes.

DOL prevailing wage, 2026-27 wage year · Software Developers (15-1252) · Bakersfield-Delano, CA. Wage level is derived by USCIS from the offered wage, occupation and worksite; the occupation shown is inferred from the job title.

Employer immigration record

from this employer's Department of Labor filings

Files H-1B transfers

6 transfer filings in the last year, covering 6 workers. Median labor-condition decision: 8 days. An employer that already files transfers is one that can take over an existing H-1B.

Sourced from Department of Labor LCA, PERM and prevailing-wage disclosure data. Employer matching is by name, so figures may be split across an employer's legal entities. Absence of a filing means none appears in our copy of the data, not that none exists.

About the role

  • Identity proofing is fundamentally complex.
  • The Developer Portal is the product that brings those pieces together for the external developer.
  • Today, much of that onboarding is still performed manually by in-house Solutions Consultants who have many other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build & Ship Self-Service Developer Features
  • Design and implement Developer Portal capabilities end-to-end - from API contract design through database schema, frontend integration, and deployment.
  • Independently drive small-to-medium features, coordinating with adjacent teams where your work crosses service boundaries.
  • Own API Contracts & Data Models
  • Build secure Developer Portal capabilities spanning OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, enterprise SSO, multi-tenant authorization, relationship-based access control, session management, credential management, and identity-aware application provisioning.
  • Partner with our Identity, Organizations, Authorization, and Platform Engineering teams to evolve these capabilities without disrupting existing integrations.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, and platform teams to clarify requirements, surface risks early, and keep the developer experience coherent as the platform grows.
  • Own the data models and REST API contracts for the capabilities you build, making deliberate decisions about backwards compatibility and versioning.
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience building and operating production backend services. [Less for PhD, Master's]
  • Strong experience building backend services and REST APIs using a modern web framework such as Java (Spring Boot), Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or similar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep experience with relational databases, including authoring complex SQL and performing safe schema migrations against production systems.
  • Experience designing REST API contracts, including versioning and backwards compatibility, and documenting them with OpenAPI or a similar specification.
  • Working proficiency with TypeScript and React - comfortable shipping customer-facing features through a modern frontend without requiring a frontend specialist to finish the work.
  • Demonstrated experience independently driving small-to-medium technical initiatives from definition through production, including cross-team coordination.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and a commitment to an AI-first engineering culture that leverages these tools to improve software quality, testing, and engineering velocity.

Nice to have

  • Experience with modern Java (21+) and Spring Boot in production codebases.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL specifically, including graph-like or highly relational data models.
  • Experience with Next.js, or with micro-frontend architectures such as Webpack Module Federation.
  • Experience with enterprise identity standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, or SCIM.
  • Experience with relationship-based authorization systems such as SpiceDB, OpenFGA, or Zanzibar-inspired architectures.
  • Experience with policy engines such as OPA or Cedar.
  • Experience performing feature-flag-driven migrations in customer-facing production systems.

Compensation

  • The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.

Company info

  • At ID.me, we embrace the thoughtful use of AI tools in our daily work and there are even occasions where we leverage AI in our hiring process.
  • Our mission is to enable customers and their developers to register their application, configure their identity needs, test in a production-like sandbox, and launch to production all through a modern self-service experience.
  • You will spend most of your time designing and building the services, APIs, and data models behind the portal - application registration, authorization, and the developer-facing APIs our customers integrate against.
