Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Install and maintain power distribution systems, including panels, feeders, transformers, switchgear, service equipment, motors, switches, and electrical circuits.
- Install and maintain high- and low-voltage electrical equipment in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot emergency power systems, including generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with established maintenance schedules and computerized work order systems.
- Recommend temporary or emergency solutions to maintain operation of critical electrical systems when necessary.
- Inspect incoming electrical equipment for compliance with applicable codes and project specifications; document inspection results.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid New York City DOB Master Electrician License required.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and power infrastructure.
- Experience with emergency power systems, including generators, ATS, and UPS equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NYC Electrical Code.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of safety and workmanship.

- Education
- Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible electrical experience.
- Experience working in commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities preferred.
- Experience supporting construction, renovation, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience maintaining mission-critical electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Licensing
Nice to have
- Technical school certification, vocational training, or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship preferred.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical and control systems preferred.

Compensation
- The base pay scale for this position is $46.58 - $46.58.
- The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
- The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
