  • We have an opportunity for a Buyer to join our in person San Luis Obispo, CA team.

Responsibilities

  • We empower industries and safeguard communities by turning nature's own molecules into sustainable, eco-friendly solutions.
  • You will be responsible for purchasing items to support production and business needs.
  • The Buyer will manage activities to procure items according to the best delivery schedule while maintaining target inventory levels.
  • The Buyer will build and maintain vendor relationships, as well as analyze and resolve issues related to procurement, accounting, and quality.
  • Manage purchasing - Place, track, and release purchase orders for inventory, tooling, and supplies.
  • Coordinate materials - Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Handle supplier issues - Process non‑conforming materials and support supplier transitions.
  • Support logistics - Expedite critical shipments and monitor delivery timelines.
  • Drive process improvement - Participate in CI and Kaizen activities.

Requirements

  • Purchasing expertise.
  • 5+ years purchasing experience in OEM or manufacturing.
  • Technical proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Potential for Overtime, as required
  • Education/experience - 2‑year business education or equivalent; bachelor's preferred.
  • Purchasing expertise - 5+ years purchasing experience in OEM or manufacturing.
  • ERP skills - Proficient with manufacturing ERP systems; INFOR Visual a plus.
  • Technical proficiency - Strong MS Office and data analysis skills.
  • Manufacturing knowledge - Understanding of manufacturing operations and multi‑level BOMs.
  • Key competencies - Detail‑oriented with strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Compliance awareness - Familiar with contracts, regulations, and purchasing law.
  • Lean familiarity - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

Nice to have

  • bachelor's preferred.
  • ERP skills - Proficient with manufacturing ERP systems
  • INFOR Visual a plus.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay for this role is: $30.00 -$44.00/hr.
  • Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
