About the role
- The Department of Communication, Film and Journalism at St.
- Joseph's University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach Multimedia Journalism, a foundational course in audio-visual storytelling in person at our Hawk Hill campus in Philadelphia.
- This course introduces students to the practice and ethics of multimedia journalism across audio, video, and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging in-person lectures, workshops, and hands-on production assignments
- Provide support and guidance to students
Requirements
- Professional experience in journalism (broadcast, digital, or multimedia)
- Experience working with DSLR cameras, audio recorders, microphones, and mobile journalism tools
- Proficiency in audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
- Familiarity with audio-visual storytelling formats and newsroom practices
- Ability to teach foundational production skills and concepts clearly
- Support students in developing technical proficiency and critical media literacy
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field (Master's preferred)
