About the role

  • The Department of Communication, Film and Journalism at St.
  • Joseph's University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach Multimedia Journalism, a foundational course in audio-visual storytelling in person at our Hawk Hill campus in Philadelphia.
  • This course introduces students to the practice and ethics of multimedia journalism across audio, video, and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging in-person lectures, workshops, and hands-on production assignments
  • Provide support and guidance to students

Requirements

  • Professional experience in journalism (broadcast, digital, or multimedia)
  • Experience working with DSLR cameras, audio recorders, microphones, and mobile journalism tools
  • Proficiency in audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
  • Familiarity with audio-visual storytelling formats and newsroom practices
  • Ability to teach foundational production skills and concepts clearly
  • Support students in developing technical proficiency and critical media literacy

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field (Master's preferred)
