About the role
- Coordinate the placement of operators - through personal interaction and knowledge of each one's skills, to ensure the best fit to benefit both the company and the operator.
- Make recommendations regarding the placement of operators to ensure best fit to benefit the company and the operator
Responsibilities
- Support the recruitment and hiring of equipment operators for the Kokosing Group of Companies by providing interview translation services, conducting pre-employment operator skills assessments, and administering the Operator Expectations Quiz.
- Provide training to new operators to develop and improve their equipment operation skills and add value to their trade.
- Work with experienced operators to keep their equipment operating skills and training up-to-date and maintain their awareness of new techniques and methods
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all operators, mechanics, superintendents, and management to facilitate effective communication and coordination within the field operations.
- Maintain a good working relationship with Local Unions, trade schools, and skilled craft community to find and hire the most qualified operator candidates for Kokosing.
Skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Basic computer skills
- Skilled in dirt moving equipment and techniques
- Knowledgeable in both MSHA and OSHA regulations and guidelines
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- 90% of job duties are performed in the field environment.
- Evaluate operator candidates on their technical skills
