The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands manufacturing tolerances, and takes ownership of quality, safety, and productivity.

Monitor machine operation and adjust parameters as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Get trained to program nesting operations to become fully trained as a programmer and operator Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks per work instructions.
Material & Production Control Maintain proper material identification and traceability.
Optimize sheet utilization and minimize scrap where possible.
Equipment & Maintenance Perform daily startup, shutdown, and routine machine maintenance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

High school diploma or equivalent. >5 years' experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment (experience level may vary).
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience working with sheet metal and/or plate materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 35lbs and stand for extended periods.

Experience with specific laser platforms (e.g., Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Mazak).
Familiarity with nesting software and CNC programming concepts.
Experience in ISO 9001 / AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Forklift or overhead crane certification.
Understanding of material grades, thicknesses, and cutting parameters.
Use of required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
Fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.

Position Summary: The Laser Cutting Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.
This role supports daily production goals by ensuring parts are cut accurately, material is handled properly, and equipment is maintained for optimal performance.
