About the role
- The selected candidate must work onsite in Reston, VA once per week, with occasional meetings in Washington, D.C. The remaining work can be performed remotely.
- Automate the patching, upgrades, and maintenance of the AWS ecosystem to improve system reliability and velocity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of total IT experience, with at least 5 years specifically in AWS Cloud Platform engineering and administration.
- At least 2 years of deep, hands-on experience with Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Ansible for configuration management.
- Hands-on experience with Python (specifically Boto3 for Lambda functions) and Linux Bash scripting.
- Previous experience in Linux System Administration.
- This is strcitly W2 positon only. ***Candidates MUST BE local to Reston, VA only.
- The core objective of this role is to provide hands-on expertise in supporting a massive AWS footprint, focusing on security guardrails and infrastructure automation.
Nice to have
- Exposure to AWS AI/ML services such as Bedrock and SageMaker.
- Familiarity with Service Mesh (Istio or AWS App Mesh) and Container Security tools (Twistlock, Sysdig, or Aqua).
- Experience with Java, Go, or Groovy development.
- VPC, Direct Connect, NACLs, Security Groups, and Load Balancers (ELB/ALB).
- Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role or a platform operations environment.
