About the role

  • Job Description: The Mammography Technologist and Breast Sonographer is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams, breast ultrasounds, and biopsies and procedures on patients using specialized equipment.
  • This position works closely with radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Responsibilities

  • Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
  • Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
  • Performs radiologic breast imaging exams per department protocol including Breast Ultrasound and advanced Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, Ultrasound core biopsies, clip placements, drainages, etc.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Mammography and breast Ultrasound
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, record patient information, procedures performed and any adverse reactions.

Nice to have

  • ARRT Breast Ultrasound or ARDMS Sonography
  • Three years of experience working in Mammography and breast Ultrasound
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
