  • What You will Contribute to OHM Advisors The successful Senior Project Engineer will have the opportunity to assist leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians on municipal projects.
  • Collaboration with a team of engineers and mentoring of entry-level staff will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and maintaining project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Design of municipal projects involving infrastructure design, site/civil design, water resources, roadway rehabilitation/reconstruction, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities.
  • Understanding City of Columbus and ODOT design criteria, standards, and specifications.
  • Lead and manage municipal engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope, and meeting all technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate the design, development, and construction of municipal infrastructure, including roads, utilities, stormwater management, and related systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff, reviewing designs, calculations, and technical documentation to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects stay on track and addressing potential risks or issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform site assessments, inspections, and quality control during construction phases to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct alternatives analysis, value engineering, and design optimization to address project challenges and maximize efficiency.

Requirements

  • Prepare and review technical reports, memos, and other documentation required for regulatory approvals, permitting, and project delivery.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio.
  • 8-10 years of experience in municipal engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, stormwater systems, and other public works.
  • Proficiency with design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related engineering tools
  • experience with HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and SewerCAD is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
