About the role
- Youth Villages' residential programs in Tennessee and Georgia provide safe, nurturing environments for youth ages 6 to 17 with complex behavioral and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Maintains progress notes, attendance records, classroom grades, and testing scores
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Experience working in a school setting (required)
- Applicants are required to co mplete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR trainings and pass an agility and strength evaluation.
- Enrollment in Teacher Education Program (required)
- Experience as a lead teacher (preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
- Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug Coverage and Vision

Nice to have
- Experience working with youth with severe emotion al and behavioral needs (preferred)
Skills
- Plans for individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and other skills
- Participates in trainings, boosters, and in-service activities
- Administers testing and interprets results to determine academic needs
- Produces lesson plans that reflect the individual educational needs of students
- Writes Individual Education Plans (IEP) as needed
- Prepares reports in compliance with school guidelines
- Completes daily documentation (such as contact notes, milieu notes, and precautionary notes) in an electronic medical record system (EMR)
- Performs other duties as assigned
Compensation
- $52,000 - $53,000 per year based on education
- 12 paid sick days per year
