About the role

  • As Cyngn scales its production deployments of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), we are seeking a highly capable Field Services Engineer to join our growing team.
  • This role is essential to the success of our customer deployment production operations and requires both technical skill and field service acumen.
  • This position bridges hands-on hardware interaction, field maintenance, software updates, and close collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field-based diagnostics, perform root cause analysis, and execute corrective actions to maintain uptime.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Services and Engineering teams to deploy software updates, log issues, and provide feedback from the field.
  • Maintain logs of service activity, diagnostics data, and configuration changes in a structured and reliable format.
  • Support initial site bring-up and commissioning efforts for new deployments.
  • Support weekend and after-hours troubleshooting on an on-call rotation basis.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work in industrial or warehouse environments.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, hear, and respond effectively in noisy environments.
  • 2+ years in a technical field service, robotics, or hardware support role.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly (30-50% anticipated).
  • Proficiency with Linux terminal, remote troubleshooting, and basic shell scripting.
  • Strong hands-on skills with mechanical/electrical components and system-level debugging.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Capable of interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or remote monitoring dashboards.

Compensation

  • $90k-$108k
