About the role

As Cyngn scales its production deployments of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), we are seeking a highly capable Field Services Engineer to join our growing team.
This role is essential to the success of our customer deployment production operations and requires both technical skill and field service acumen.
This position bridges hands-on hardware interaction, field maintenance, software updates, and close collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Conduct field-based diagnostics, perform root cause analysis, and execute corrective actions to maintain uptime.
Collaborate with Engineering Services and Engineering teams to deploy software updates, log issues, and provide feedback from the field.
Maintain logs of service activity, diagnostics data, and configuration changes in a structured and reliable format.
Support initial site bring-up and commissioning efforts for new deployments.
Support weekend and after-hours troubleshooting on an on-call rotation basis.

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work in industrial or warehouse environments.
Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly, hear, and respond effectively in noisy environments.
2+ years in a technical field service, robotics, or hardware support role.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly (30-50% anticipated).
Proficiency with Linux terminal, remote troubleshooting, and basic shell scripting.
Strong hands-on skills with mechanical/electrical components and system-level debugging.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Capable of interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or remote monitoring dashboards.
