About the role
- OpenLoop is looking for a Clinical Informaticist to join our team remotely.
- This role will be a member of the Clinical & Informatics team and report to the Senior Medical Director of Clinical & Informatics.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and update clinical data assets that provide clinical decision support and drive clinical workflows, - ensuring their ongoing accuracy, completeness, and clinical validity over time
- Translate clinical requirements into workflow and informatics/data specifications, and validate that delivered features reflect sound clinical reasoning
- Analyze clinical data to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement, and apply findings to enhance decision support logic and workflow automation
- Review technical specifications for clinical workflow applications to provide clinical informatics input - and provide support as SME and IC for product managers leading clinical application products
- Collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering stakeholders to ensure data-driven features are safe, usable, and clinically meaningful
- Partner with clinical leadership to support guideline development, clinical content governance, and quality and product enhancements
- collaboratively design and implement solutions
- Demonstrated clinical informatics experience, ideally in a setting that blends clinical knowledge with data development to support clinical decision making and workflows
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., MD/DO, PharmD, NP, PA) and current board certification in the relevant clinical discipline required
- 5+ years of clinical practice experience required
- 5+ years of experience in hands-on clinical informatics work, to include data development, data analysis, and data maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of clinical workflows and experience working in or with multiple EHR systems
- High Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL required
- Knowledge of and/or experience with FHIR, FHIR resource model, and FHIRpath syntax
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to reason through complex clinical and data-modeling problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to act as a translator between clinical and technical audiences
- Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams and stakeholders
Nice to have
- Formal training in clinical informatics (e.g., graduate coursework, certificate, or board certification in Clinical Informatics) is strongly preferred
