About the role

Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design & Development
- Own the full lifecycle of mechanical design, from concept to detailed CAD and drawings.
- Develop high-precision mechanisms, optomechanical assemblies, and enclosures for durability and usability.
- Drive testing and validation of designs under real-world conditions.
- Implement iterative improvements based on field and user feedback.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and assembly instructions. Drive DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) best practices.
- Partner with optics, hardware, and firmware teams to align on system requirements.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to meet regulatory and safety standards (e.g., IEC, CE, FCC).

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on precision systems, robotics or optomechanical devices.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven track record of bringing hardware products from concept through to commercial release.
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) and experience with mechanical simulations (FEA, thermal, tolerance analysis).
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, machining, and 3D printing.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chain considerations.
- Experience with optics integration, robotics, or precision alignment systems is a strong asset.
