About the role

  • Mentors play a vital role in supporting this transition and fostering long-term independence.
  • Model socially appropriate behaviour and encourage community involvement

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to youth in achieving identified goals
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth and families
  • Implement behavioural strategies and provide out-of-home family support
  • Report and document significant incidents to appropriate stakeholders
  • Maintain ongoing professional development and community professionalism
  • 24-hour on-call support during respite placements
  • Ongoing training and professional support
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with service teams
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships

Requirements

  • Do you have a natural ability to connect with youth and guide them through challenges and growth?
  • Attend supervision (minimum quarterly), training sessions, and required workshops
  • Transport youth using a personal vehicle, when required
  • Required Documentation

Nice to have

  • Experience & Knowledge (Preferred)

Skills

  • Promote social skills, healthy development, and life skills (personal hygiene, routines, independence)
