Responsibilities
- Responsible for defining the build and inspection process for the assembly of all primary and secondary structures
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for these same structures
- Document and standardize specialized processes while owning the creation and modification of manufacturing planning/work instructions
- Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve production challenges
- Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implementation in a rapidly evolving production environment
- Create 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with analysis, manufacturing, and test engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support design reviews and communicate technical solutions effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Our U.S. branch is based in Englewood, Colorado, and focuses on high-capacity payload lunar landers designed to support future lunar missions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years minimum experience in structural manufacturing within the aerospace or space industry.
- Experience in composite materials, metallic structures, and assembly/inspection methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) and PDM systems (e.g. PDM, Windchill, Teamcenter).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for composites, including lay-up, curing, bonding, and machining.
- Proficiency in Drawing Creation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering structural components for space vehicles or aerospace applications.
- Experience identifying and navigating the challenges of a startup environment.
- Experience in lightweight structures and optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with composite fabrication and testing.
