About the role

  • The applicant will help review system and subsystem specifications and interface documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will be a member of a collaborative team providing hardware and software development and test support to the US ARMY.
  • The candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks, both independently and under supervision of senior engineering staff.
  • These tasks are broad in nature and are concerned with the design, implementation, and testing of software and hardware.
  • The candidate will assist in developing systems and software architectures, supporting software requirements management, and contributing to embedded software solutions.
  • Additionally, the candidate will support system/subsystem design, trade-off and performance studies, and analyses; assist in interpreting and analyzing requirements derived from the customer; and participate in hardware and software design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and configuration control boards.

Requirements

  • Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
  • Clearance Requirement: Required
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Desired Skills: Introductory knowledge of embedded software environments.

Skills

  • Foundational understanding of C++ programming and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Development concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of standard software development lifecycles, processes, and documentation.
  • Introductory knowledge of embedded software environments.
  • Exposure to Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), specifically VxWorks or similar environments.
  • Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Introductory knowledge of scripting languages (such as Python or Bash) for testing and automation.
  • Exposure to debugging tools and basic hardware-software integration troubleshooting.
