About the role
- Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 - This position is responsible for the successful completion of the surgical scheduling process for patients requiring elective surgery at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
- License/Certification: N/A Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.

Requirements
- two year Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients
- Knowledge of physician appointments and schedule management.
- Ability to work independently
- Three to five years previous experience in medical office.
- Command of verbal and written English; positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills.
- Understanding of referral and prior authorization process.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills
- Able to work collaboratively with surgeons, the hospital surgical schedulers, and the PCP's office staff
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer skills
