  • Job Description The Maintenance Technician is a professional with a practical mind and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Act with integrity and demonstrate support for our core values.
  • Maintain an overall focus on enhancing the resident experience.
  • Demonstrate and maintain professional relationships with internal team members, direct reports, leadership, and vendors.
  • Perform general and specialized maintenance requests which can include but is not limited to the following: minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and renovation (drywall, painting, flooring, and/or cabinetry) repairs.
  • Perform daily mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems inspections and maintain accurate logs and escalated deficiencies.
  • Assist with building common area daily walks and proactively address deficiencies to ensure safety, and overall condition of amenity spaces.
  • Provide on-call support for after-hours site emergencies on a rotating schedule.
  • Utilize technology to accurately drive productivity and continuous improvement for maintenance service delivery.
  • Document and report all maintenance work order records electronically via Resident APP in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative, agility, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and interests while being culturally aware.

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • Regularly required to stand and move
  • Other duties as required.
  • Detail work completion or if outside contractor work is required to complete the maintenance work order.
  • Regularly required to stand and move; use hands to grasp, squeeze, finger, handle, and feel; reach, push, and pull with hands and arms; twist; reach overhead; stoop, kneel, squat, bend, and crouch.
  • Regularly required to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
  • Skilled in repair and maintenance of building systems, including, but not limited to minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and miscellaneous renovation repairs.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on call.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma.
  • Work Schedule: Employees are expected to work onsite.
  • Physical Demands:

Nice to have

  • College diploma or trades certification in relevant field.
  • Basic knowledge of Yardi.

Compensation

  • Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.
  • $47,340.00 - $71,000.00
  • This position is eligible for an attractive benefits and wellness package and an incentive opportunity of: 7%

  • Ensure all vendors and contractors comply with the established health and safety legislation and policy, and immediately address any infractions, hazardous conditions, or damaged equipment.
  • Follow prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), health and safety regulations and procedures in compliance with Ministry of Labour laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation, including but not limited to, the Residential Tenancies Act, Employment Standards Act, Fire Code, and Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act​. ​
