About the role

Responsibilities
- Own manufacturing engineering deliverables across the lifecycle, including process creation, acceptance and test plans, tooling and equipment definition and commissioning, and the author of work instructions.
- Drive design and process development within Lunar IPTs and Build & Flow, supporting requirements generation, DFx, and leading design trades that balance cost, schedule, producibility, reliability, and operational needs.
- Support Operations Leadership by providing effective, data-driven decision-making on complex scenarios, using metrics and clear trade studies to enable sound choices in a high-velocity aerospace production environment.
- Drive continuous improvement using lean principles, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions, and collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other partner teams to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and ensure on-time delivery of flight hardware.
- Potential travel up to 10% of the time for training and other support activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related engineering field from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering
- Flexibility to change shifts as needed and to work extended hours when required to support production schedules.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering field, with professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management Professional (PMP).
- E xperience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing fundamentals, including GD&T, DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing process development.
- F amiliarity with aerospace quality and safety standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- E xperience with manufacturing automation, digital work instructions, and advanced metrology (CMM, laser scanning).
- Experience working within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including supporting requirements generation and establishing/maintaining Interface Control Models (ICMs).
- P roficiency with PLM/MRP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill), BOM management, and product structure reconciliation.
- P roficiency with MS Office, MS Project, Visio, Jira, and Confluence.

Compensation
- WA applicants is $140,316.00 - $196,442.40
