About the role

  • The site location is subject to change regularly.
  • Assist with meal preparation, cooking, portioning, and serving food.
  • Assist with meal service, packaging, and/or delivery of meals as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform other appropriate tasks as deemed necessary by your immediate supervisor or task manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required and/or prior experience in a kitchen position (preferably with senior center experience).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects - up to 50lbs.
  • Walking, climbing, standing, and lifting are required.
  • The Floating Kitchen Aide is required to work across the OAC meal sites as needed.
  • Work may be conducted either inside or outside of the center where needed.
  • Schedule:
  • This position provides a flexible schedule, with shifts ranging from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Workdays may be scheduled on any day, including Sunday and Saturday. Please be advised that this position necessitates availability and flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays, as well as to fill in at other OACs as needed during the specified hours of operation.
  • Project FIND participates in E-Verify, which confirms employment authorization through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security. The E-Verify process is completed in conjunction with the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates.

Nice to have

  • Work with clients who are 60 or older (preferred).
  • Cooking experience is preferred.
