About the role
- Work across React/TypeScript/NestJS services, contributing to whichever codebase the work requires.
- Write well-tested, production-ready code and take ownership of your services in production - including on-call responsibilities, monitoring (Datadog), and incident response.
- Contribute to engineering standards, tooling, and processes that help the team ship faster and more reliably.
Responsibilities
- Build and consume event-driven integrations using Google Pub/Sub, enabling reliable communication between services.
- Collaborate closely with product, ops, customer success teams and engineers across the different teams to deliver features that serve members, customer admins, and internal operations teams.
- Join our Product Experience (PX) team and help build the systems behind Forma's member and admin experience - the member portal, admin portal, mobile app, and the integrations that power them.
- You'll work across the stack to deliver intuitive, secure, and scalable experiences that members and customer admins rely on every day.

Requirements
- Solid experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL - schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
- Comfortable with observability tools (logging, metrics, alerting) - we use Datadog, but experience with similar platforms counts.
Nice to have
- This role is fullstack-preferred, but we're also open to strong backend engineers who are eager to grow into fullstack work.
- Frontend experience with React and TypeScript (strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with MUI, Tailwind, or component-driven UI development is a plus.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript/NestJS
- Experience with event-driven architectures or messaging systems (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka, SQS/SNS) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure
- GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure experience translates well. Bonus points for experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines.
