About the role
- The Registered Early Childhood Educator/Early Years Educator, will work in both our EarlyON and School Readiness Programs, it is a blended position.
- EarlyON programming will be high quality, welcoming, inclusive, integrated, and community led.
- School Readiness is a licensed program aimed at improving the developmental readiness for children to enter Kindergarten.
Responsibilities
- Provide full delivery of programs, including, but not limited to, the preparation and provision of healthy snacks, maintain a clean and safe program environment, performing administrative duties such as maintaining program records.
- Work with colleagues and other community networks to identify community and systemic issues associated with quality-of-life as identified by community residents, and to design and implement relevant community development strategies.
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum including self regulation and resiliency building activities for child.
- Refer to and attend transition to kindergarten meeting with families to ensure supports for success are in place when children start school.
- Identify children who may have developmental challenges and work with parents to refer them to appropriate specialists, follow -up with and support families to attend appointments.
- Keep parents informed of their children's progress and maintain records of contacts.
- Maintain accurate program/licencing records.
- Maintain stimulating, safe and hygienic program rooms.
- Maintain toys and equipment.
- Maintain Childcare Act standards as per Ministry requirements.

- $22.00 - 25.88 hourly
