Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Thermodynamics Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science
  • 1 year with Masters.
  • Professional knowledge of structures, statics, strength of materials, structural dynamics principles, and methods.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with investigation date within 6 years.
  • Experience with finite element method or finite difference method thermal analysis software (Thermal Desktop, Ansys, etc).
  • Experience in the thermal analysis of aerospace systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Heat Transfer methods and principles.
  • Principal Thermodynamics Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science
  • 3 Years with Masters
  • 1 Year with PhD.

Nice to have

  • Professional knowledge of missile and/or spacecraft structures, statics, strength of materials, structural dynamics principles, and methods.
  • Ablation/thermochemical erosion modelling.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience working strategic or tactical missile programs or spacecraft.
  • Experience with high performance computing, management of large sets of data.
  • Experience with Thermal Desktop.
  • Experience with Integrated System Level Thermal Models and/or Component/Unit Level Thermal Models.
  • Experience Correlating Thermal Models to Test Data.

Compensation

  • $77,200.00 - $115,800.00 Secondary Level
  • $95,300.00 - $142,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
  • Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
