Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced electrical modeling in ETAP and AmpCalc to coordinate system protection, determine fault-duty ratings, and calculate arc-flash hazards.
  • Manage scope of work for 3rd party electrical engineers including but not limited to studies
  • protection coordination, power flow, Arc Flash, Step/touch Grounding Analysis, PSCAD and PSSE Modeling, Substation Design.
  • Support the Grid Integration and Project Engineering team.
  • Complete Project design reviews
  • review of single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and site layout designs for compliance with code, best practices, and utility requirements
  • Provide technical support to Nexamp commissioning:
  • Manage scope of work for 3rd party electrical engineers including but not limited to studies; protection coordination, power flow, Arc Flash, Step/touch Grounding Analysis, PSCAD and PSSE Modeling, Substation Design.
  • Complete Project design reviews; review of single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and site layout designs for compliance with code, best practices, and utility requirements
  • Develop, with assistance, mitigation plans for non-performance to establish safe operation

Requirements

  • Respond to RFIs on active construction projects as required

Nice to have

  • 6+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 2+ years of PV experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
  • EIT certification required, PE preferred
  • AutoCAD software proficiency
  • ETAP, SKM, or AmpCalc modeling experience
  • Familiarity with AcSELerator and RDB generation
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles, including medium voltage distribution, protection system coordination and relaying principles
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods

Compensation

  • The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $135,000 - $150,000.
  • In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
  • Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
