About the role

  • Blackbird Health is seeking a mission-driven, board-certified psychiatrist or collaborative physician to join our growing pediatric mental health team in Virginia.
  • The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of collaborative clinical experience and a passion for expanding access to high-quality mental health care for children, adolescents, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assess clinical decision-making to ensure the highest standard of patient care
  • Collaborate with the clinical and leadership team to refine workflows and implement best practices
  • Own your own phone, computer, and high-speed internet connection
  • Our patient support team is busy helping children and families, please do not call or email them about your application - this helps us process your application more efficiently.

Requirements

  • You bring 5+ years of collaborative clinical experience, and are comfortable working alongside nurse practitioners in a supervisory capacity
  • You have a deep understanding of child and adolescent psychiatric presentations and evidence-based treatment approaches

Nice to have

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults in a clinical setting
  • Familiarity with collaborative practice agreements and multi-state telehealth regulations
  • Background in or exposure to integrated or interdisciplinary care models
  • Comfort with EMR systems and async clinical communication tools
  • Board-certified psychiatrist licensed in Virginia (MD or DO)
  • 5+ years of collaborative clinical experience (CRNP collaboration preferred)
  • Availability for approximately 2-5 hours per month for chart reviews and consultations
  • Ability to respond to urgent clinical consultations in a timely manner

Compensation

  • $2,000 - $2,500 USD
