About the role
- You will help shape the strategic direction of our water services while mentoring the next generation of engineering leaders.
- While the primary focus of this role is water infrastructure, candidates with experience in wastewater systems, stormwater infrastructure, drainage, and integrated utility planning are highly desired.
- Civil Science anticipates continued growth in water, sewer, and drainage services, and this leader will play a key role in shaping that expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and expansion of Civil Science's water infrastructure practice.
- Create and execute growth strategies for water transmission, distribution, storage, source development, treatment, and utility infrastructure services.
- Build and strengthen relationships with municipal agencies, utility districts, irrigation entities, and other public-sector clients.
- Support revenue growth and establish a sustainable project backlog.
- Deliver innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Lead planning, design, and execution of complex municipal water infrastructure projects.
- Support multidisciplinary project teams across offices and disciplines.
- Lead the firm's Water Expertise Group and foster collaboration across offices.
- Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Help recruit, retain, and develop top water infrastructure talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in water infrastructure engineering and project management.
- Strong client relationship management and business development experience.
- Experience with:
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass both a criminal background check and driving record review.
Nice to have
- Water treatment experience.
- Water rights experience.
- Sewer collection and treatment systems experience.
- Stormwater and drainage experience.
- Regional utility planning experience.
- Funding and grant program knowledge.
- Experience with SCADA and control systems.
