- Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St.
- Working Conditions • Work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Frequent night, weekend, and holiday work during outages or storms. • May work in cramped, elevated, uneven, or slippery conditions. • Subject to storm response at any time.
Responsibilities
- Install, connect, maintain, and remove transformers, regulators, capacitors, and associated equipment.
- Perform work on energized lines at all voltages following established safe‑work procedures.
- Install, remove, and maintain primary and secondary meters, enclosures, and related equipment.
- Erect and maintain steel towers and A‑frame or H‑frame structures
- Perform switching operations in accordance with Ameren's established procedures.
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair streetlights and dusk‑to‑dawn lighting systems.
- Perform pole‑top rescue, first aid, and CPR when needed.
Requirements
- paint steel structures as required.
- reset protective devices as required.
- Erect and maintain steel towers and A‑frame or H‑frame structures; paint steel structures as required.
- Successful completion of the A.L.B.A.T. program or an equivalent apprenticeship.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Possess or be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Must pass all State/Federal licensing requirements, medical evaluations and drug screening.
- Covered under the IBEW Local 702 bargaining agreement.
- Special Responsibilities
- Follow all Ameren safety rules, procedures, and protective equipment requirements.
- Maintain reliable attendance and timely response to call‑outs.
- Use sound judgment and ensure responsible use of vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain effective communication with coworkers, customers, and leadership.
Compensation
- Grade Step BA 062 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 55.01 USD
