About the role

  • We're standing up a new function at Alloy: Forward Deployed Engineering.
  • You'll be one of the first two engineers on this founding team.
  • This is a software engineering role through and through - based within our Engineering org, with a scope that spans software, product, and solutions engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and tune customer and channel-partner deployments end-to-end - API integrations, third-party data integrations, SDKs, and latency constraints.
  • Own the engineering track of QBRs for your accounts and serve in their on-call escalation path.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing production-ready software, with a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable solutions.
  • Strong backend and API fluency, with the ability to read and write production code across services you don't own.

Requirements

  • Sound architectural judgment under ambiguity: you can make and defend technical decisions in the room, with a customer watching.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a company with a strong Forward Deployed Engineering culture (Palantir, Scale AI, Ramp, Plaid, Stripe, etc.).
  • Familiarity with identity, fraud, KYC/KYB, or financial services infrastructure.
  • Experience with SDK development or embedded front-end integrations.
