About the role

  • The Senior Director, Growth is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving net-new growth across Institutional Membership and Studio services.
  • We are seeking an experienced, commercially-driven business development leader with executive presence and deep experience selling to leaders across corporate social impact, CSR, public affairs, and/or philanthropy.
  • This role plays a critical part in shaping NationSwell's presence within the corporate social impact and private philanthropy landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Grow Membership Practice (75%) Own net-new revenue generation for Institutional Membership and Studio services across assigned segments and territories, working with internal team members to support outbound efforts.
  • Build, manage, and convert a high-quality pipeline through proactive outreach, network activation, events, insights, and strategic relationship-building.
  • Develop and execute a clear go-to-market strategy aligned to priority audiences within an assigned territory of corporate social impact and/or private philanthropy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop compelling narratives and proposals that resonate with senior decision-makers.
  • Support for IMs & Generation of Expansion Opportunities (20%) Ensure seamless handoff of new accounts to the member servicing team.
  • Provide strategic leadership and executive sponsorship across member accounts and segments to help account leads provide value, delight, drive renewal, and cross-sell.
  • Act as a thought partner to account leads, helping deepen executive relationships and surface opportunities for Studio services, sponsorships, and membership upgrades.
  • Represent NationSwell in select member and external experiences to support relationship deepening and opportunity development.
  • Contribute to IM Management Team, Content, and Programming (5%) Serve as a strategic thought partner to Membership and Growth leadership, bringing market insight and executive feedback into program evolution, content development, and service innovation.
  • Collaborate with Insights and Events teams to inform research agendas, convenings, and offerings that resonate with corporate social impact and/or philanthropic leaders.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or advisory sales within social impact, CSR, public affairs, private philanthropy, consulting, or adjacent fields.
  • Strong understanding of philanthropic trends, social impact frameworks, and executive decision-making dynamics.

  • To excel in this role, candidates must bring: A deep, established network across corporate social impact, CSR, public affairs, private philanthropy, donor collaboratives, and/or philanthropic advisory ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success engaging and selling to senior decision-makers, including foundation presidents, corporate citizenship and sustainability leaders, public affairs executives, and philanthropic principals.
  • A proven ability to originate, advance, and close complex, relationship-driven deals through warm introductions, thought leadership, convenings, and trusted advisory relationships.
  • Comfort operating in consultative sales motions that require credibility, patience, and strong narrative framing.
